You may have gotten the August Daily Scripture Guide a few days ago, and if you didn't you can get it right here: August Daily Scripture Guide
but whether or not you got it I've got a few thoughts to go along with it...
Have you ever noticed that some people read the Bible and get really excited or comforted or empowered? And that some other people read the Bible and it seems more like they're talking themselves into it? Yeah, I've noticed it too.
In fact. I've BEEN both of those people.
So I thought through what changed and came up with two reasons:
1) I had to decide to believe everything that God wants us to know is in the Bible. I had to trust that God has promised that His word is breathed out by Him and that He has made sure that it doesn't get messed up by Satan or humans. I had to trust that when we believe His words with guidance by the Holy Spirit we are getting everything He wants us to have.
If we don't believe that, then we have nothing to believe. It's all or nothing.
2) I had to choose to believe that every single word in there is true. No if's, and's, or but's. Absolutely true.
Deciding to believe that His Words in the Bible are acurate and there on purpose combined with choosing to TRULY BELIEVE all those Words is everything for us as believers.
Have fun believing, dear friends!
